Telephone befriender
Telephone befriending volunteers offer support to reduce social isolation and assist individuals during emotional crises and life transitions. They provide emotional support to those who may be lonely or isolated, fostering connections and offering a compassionate ear during challenging times.
1-1 befriender
1-1 befriending volunteers provide short and medium-term support in the community. They help reduce social isolation and assist individuals during emotional crises and life transitions, such as bereavement, relationship breakdown, birth of a child, retirement, health diagnosis, and loss of employment.
Facilities
Facilities volunteers support the Facilities Team with general cleaning and maintenance of Elmfield Hall, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment for all visitors. Their efforts contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of our historic building and community space.
Reception and hospitality
Reception volunteers provide a friendly face and welcoming environment for visitors at Elmfield Hall. Duties include office administration, reception cover, answering the telephone, and assisting with hospitality for meetings, events, training sessions, and group activities to ensure smooth operations.
Events fundraiser
Events fundraiser volunteers use their skills and experience to promote our organization. They help raise awareness of our goals and activities through event planning and fundraising opportunities, working to engage the community and generate essential support for our various programs and initiatives.
Catering
Catering volunteers assist with food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining the tearoom and kitchen areas at Elmfield Hall. They ensure health and safety procedures are followed, ideally have Level 2 Food Hygiene certification, and receive training if needed, contributing to a positive dining experience.
